Technical Assistance (TA)/Consultant to Support Implementation of Forum Economic Agenda

Background
The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) seeks to engage a TA/Consultant to support the work of the Economics Team (ET) including, COVID-19 Economic Recovery, development of a Blue Pacific Economic Strategy and the PRF in 2021/22. The TA will be part of and support ET, under the Programmes and Initiatives division of the Secretariat.
The TA/Consultant will support the key work streams spearheaded by ET within PIFS. The work streams are interlinked. These include the work on COVID-19 that aims to assist Forum Island Countries (FICs) recover from the impacts of the pandemic, development of a blue Pacific economic strategy that addresses the sustainable utilisation of ocean resources for optimum economic benefits for FICs. On the other hand, the PRF aims to build the region’s resilience against disasters that could potentially disrupt and undermine economic growth in FICs. The TA/Consultant will support the coordination and strengthening of the linkages and synergies of the three workstreams as well as support the implementation of the broader agenda of Forum Economic Ministers
Purpose
The TA/Consultant will support ET to implement the Forum Leaders and FEMM decisions.
Scope of Work
To among others, support ET on support member countries on COVID-19 economic recovery and any tasking from Team Leaders; provide technical advice and support to the ET’s work in developing strategies for maximising benefits from the Blue Economy; and provide technical advice and support to the implementation of the Pacific Resilience Facility (PRF), as well as other economic development issues or priorities, as required, as per specifications set out under the Terms of Reference (TOR) document which can be downloaded from www.tenders.net/forumsec.
